Default How to remove stuck light?

Maybe it isn't silicone. Other types are more adhesive, and polyurethanes
sometimes can only be dislodged by cutting our the part of the boat they're
attached to (so I hear).

This commercial web site explains it pretty well, I think:
www.bosunsupplies.com/Sealants.cfm.

We have an old brass spot light on our boat that I am replacing. The

problem
is that the base is stuck to the fiberglass with what I am assuming to be
silicon. Does anyone know of a solvent or technique that will loosen it?
Thanks,

Allen
