It is pretty strange that a significant number of the guns (over 2000)

I am still not sure why anyone in Mexico would want to pay over $1000
for a semi-auto rifle from the US when they could get a full auto
military version for less than $100 from one of the countries in
Central America (supplied, either by the Soviets or by our own CIA in
the 80s)
That whole region is awash in military hardware.
