masters degree? If I had decent grades from a decent school system, I

The Selective Service Commission kept me out of Vietnam. I was in
college and had a student deferment (I think it was II-S), and though I
was later reclassified, I was never drafted.

But, hey, you couldn't even hang onto a job cleaning out a barn, eh?

They told Harry that if your grades slipped you'd be back at the top of
the draft list. Harry, not wanting to risk it, enrolled in basket
weaving courses at a bonehead university.
