For those interested in our cruise this summer, here's a graphic of
daily position reports so far:

We're presently anchored in Great Salt Pond, Block Island, Rhode
Island. BI is living up to its reputation with brisk southwesterly
winds, sometimes known as the Block Island Gale.

Block Island is a very nice little island which has been called "The
Bermuda of the North". Having been to Bermuda quite a few times, I
wouldn't go quite that far but its still a very neat place regardless.
We've been coming here by boat since the early '70s along with a lot
of other people. The harbor can get very crowded at times and this is
high season. Everything is going well however. The engines and
generators have been behaving themselves, the inverter is inverting,
batteries are holding charge quite well, and the new alternator
recently rebuilt by Tim our resident expert is doing a great job.
For anyone interested in cruising southern New England, I highly
recommend it.
