I have a 1985 Hunter 40 (On City Island in NY) available.
Is that the one that had the holding tank connections come off, and they
never managed to get the smell out?
No, that's the Hunter with the unsupported hull that 1/4" thick down there
at the waterline to make it real easy to drill a hole through for new
through-hull fittings.....(c;
I stood next to a friend's Hunter with my battery drill in hand with a hole
saw in it waiting for him to tell me where he wanted the hole for the Whale
bilge pump required for CORA racing in Charleston. "You'll never drill
through the hull with that little drill motor.", he proclaimed. When we
decided where he wanted the hole, of course, I simply punched the hole in
that place in a matter of seconds. I pulled the plug of thin fiberglass
out of the hole saw and handed it to him with his mouth hanging open. "You
said drill it here.", I quipped smiling. Man that hull was THIN! No
wonder the boat is so LIGHT!
