Man Holds Up Bank For $1 In Attempt To Get Medical Treatment In Prison

21 Jun 2011

Richard James Verone, 59, unemployed, who apparently has a chest growth,
two ruptured disks and a problem with his left foot, tried to rob a bank
of $1 so he could be treated free as a prisoner. Verone, of North
Carolina, USA, walked into an RBC Bank branch and handed over a note to
a female worker demanding one dollar.

In the note he had written that he was armed.

Verone said he is hoping for a three-year sentence, the time he
estimates his medical needs will take.

After handing over the note he is said to have sat down on a chair.

The bank teller dialed 911 and said on the phone "He's sitting on the
sofa as you walk in the front door."

The police were called and arrested him; he had no weapon.

In a telephone interview from prison in Gaston County, North Carolina,
Verone said that he is a logical person, and holding up a bank for one
dollar was the only logic he could come up with.

Verone added:

"If it is called manipulation, then out of necessity because I need
medical care, then I guess I am manipulating the courts to get medical
care."

As he was unarmed he will not be jailed for armed robbery. Larceny,
which means theft, would probably only result in a one-year jail term.

I thought he had Obamacare? LOL. Where is all that debt spending going
anyway? LMAO.

USA needs a real good president to fix Omama-mess.

You're a flaming asshole. There's just no other appropriate way to
describe you. The fellow in question was a long-time employee of
Coca-Cola who lost his job and couldn't replace it with another that
provided reasonable health care.

Your attitude is why mooks like you will, in the end, lose.

As if Canook never took advantage of socialized medicine in his own
country.

I have actually. Real PITA. Have you? If so how long was your wait?

Do a google on "hospital bed shortage". As every government with
socialized medicine knows, get the money and short the services for more
money for more government.

There are strengths in socialized medicine, but service isn't one of
them. If you are at all sane about US having socialized medicine, don't
make the same mistakes as others, set it up so greedy government can't
skim and bamboozle it. That is, it operates outside of governments main
revenue. Government can't borrow its funds or steal from it. 100% of
the tax collected for health care goes to health care, not one penny
less or more. No debt funding either, more services are higher taxes.
Less services are less taxes.

Big trick these greedy governments use to enslave people with taxes is
justify a tax increase using health care then spend it elsewhere. The
Obama tax grab as none of his plans protect the taxpayer....just a
statism money grab.

I actually think a good way is a surtax of 20% on all incomes unless you
can prove you have provided health care on all your dependents,
including kids (even if divorced). Most people wihout insurance have
Jack Daniels, a sports car or Mary Jay priorities.
