president's advisory board who were pushing it (Summers, Greenspan and
Levitt). The only real legislative opposition was by 51 Republicans in
the house along with 9 Democrats.

yep. ever hear of 'deregulation'? the myth invented by the right, that
deregulation was ALWAYS right. they got alot of traction with it THEN

the problem with you right wingers is you can't learn from history
they had an easy time THEN pushing dereg. and they're making the SAME
arguments today having learned NOTHING. they oppose financial
regulations on the banks, they oppose the CFPB...etc etc
