The icebreaker CCGS Griffon is pictured in Lock3 of the Welland Canal
on 2010-12-02. The Griffon is downbound (Northbound) from Lake Erie to
Lake Ontario.

Lock 3 is in St Catharines Ontario Canada. To the left of where this
picture was taken, there is a viewing gallery that allows tourists to
watch the lock operation from above the ships. This is the principal
tourist spot on the Welland Canal.

The Griffon is currently (mid January) escorting ships (and breaking
ice for them) at the west end of Lake Erie.
