I have an acquaintance who recently purchased a 1990 24' SeaRay.While
having it serviced his Mech. said he noticed movement in the transom and
said the transom needed to be replaced. I don't know what, if anything,
was done to verify the need to replace the transom. I am also curious as
to exactly when SeaRay sold out to Bayliner and if any of you guys have
any knowledge of major issues with the brand pre/post Bayliner.

Usually, by sticking it with a screwdriver. OR...by observing the
Intermediate for movement while the Boat is " under load ". Could be
as simple as grabbing the outdrive, and wiggling it while the boat is
on the trailer while someone else observes from the inside.

Twin engine models are the most at risk.
