BTW, I'm only going back to the term "queer" because
The word "gay' is often used as a perjorative having nothing
to do with queers.
Saying "gay community" every time is cumbersome.
"Homosexual" is likewise too long, and "homo" is frowned upon.
I don't like saying "African-American" either.
I just say "black." Like Trump.
