Hi,

The guy working on my Jet Ski said he thinks it needs an igniter, or
igniter
box, or he said it's sometimes called an electronic control unit...I
believe he
said it has four wires coming out of it and it's part of the ignition
system.
Does anyone know what he's referring to that can tell me the correct
term(s) to
search for? Is it a CDI module? Can anyone suggest where to look for the
lowest
price for one? So far I haven't been able to find one at all.

That's what I'd like to see happen with all PWC.

Who said anything about "cheap" other than yourself?

I take it you did when you said: "Can anyone suggest where to look for

Actually you said 'less expensive' so to me that means 'cheap' Sure
money is an issue and I like to get the best bang for the buck too.
but if there are different grades or outlets of parts, and you are
looking for the least expensive part, then I'd say you simply want the
'cheap' part. And that's not bad. I run Mercuruisers on my boats
because the engings are basic GM automotive engines and I can get
about any part I want through NAPA instead of paying way higher [in
many cases] through a mercury dealer. So yeah, I'm 'cheap' too. but I
know there's some things I can't get by with so to the dealer we go.
