do SAR missions

were the only SAR capability in NY harbor after 9/11 because active
duty side was on military duty

help to train USCG in drug interdiction, etc missions

but to the right wing, that's irrelevant. it doesnt help the rich



Nothing is going to stop the USCG Aux from doing these things with their
own resources. When an non-profit organization becomes a quasi-
government organization they might as well be fully part of the
government.
