There were two major ways of getting into the military back then: you
were drafted or you enlisted.
I wasn't drafted. I saw no reason to enlist. That war wasted the lives
of a million Asians and 50,000+ Americans and others for absolutely no
good reason
It isn't that I disagree with you. Going to these countries is a waste
of good blood and money. It is about power, money and greed. Sure as
hell isn't freedom. The only people that gain are munitions manufactures
and crooked politicians.
The military benefits. Wars provide more billets, increased
opportunities for advancement and demonstrate to a gullible public the
"need" for a large military.
