I repowered my Maxum 2300 SCR. The boat itself is a cruiser w/
walkdown cabin and aft berth. It weighs around 4600 pounds. I
replaced the 190 Hp 4.3L V-6 and Alpha outdrive with a Mercruiser 5.7L
300 Hp EFI and Bravo One outdrive (just not sold on the Bravo-3
concept). I have a prop made locally at a prop shop on it. It is a
stainless 21P 15" diameter. The prop slips too much and when it
finally catches up to the engine, the motor will over-rev to 5000+
rpm. I went to the Miami Boat Show and talked to several vendors. I
had suggestions for 3, 4, and 5 bladed props from 19P to 23P.
I am looking for inputs from people who may have similar situations.
What prop should I try next and can anyone suggest a place that will
ship me a prop, let me try it, and exchange it for another one if it
doesn't work? I am looking at the Mercruiser Laser II Prop and the
Mirage Plus Prop. Any suggestions???
I use the boat primarily for cruising/fishing. I have the old 16P 16"
stainless 3-blade to pull skiers or heavy loads with.

I have a similar boat with the 260 hp engine and a 3 blade 15x17 prop.
I'd be inclined to recommend a 15x19 with 4 blades.
