This is on topic so I split it out
I trust a spark plug that has been running 1000 hours more than a new
one, until I see it run.
The only "testing" the manufacturers do these days is that it fits in
the box.
New defective parts are fairly rare and that just makes it harder when
you are trying to fix something. In trouble shooting it is a good idea
to back out new parts that didn't fix anything before you replace
something else.

If i could see inside the box and sort though and return all the
defective parts I get, I'd be beyond a millionaire!
