Drones might be good to spot, but an Apache 30mm rounds might be cheaper
than missiles.
If you are involving a pilot, an A10 is probably a better choice. Same
gun but you also have the capability for a lot of wing mounted
ordinance and you have a lot of range. They can also operate out of
primitive air fields like you might have in Africa or south Asia.
We have a buttload of them sitting out in the desert.
I'd be glad to take a six-week course in how to fly one!
