Auto-food delivery system for alligators

Local enviro-fools used $ 3.5 million of "stimulus" to build a "turtle
tunnel" under US HWY 27 so turtles could cross under and not get
squished by cars. A simple culvert would not suffice so they built a
huge thing with long walls to direct the silly turtles. With this
amount of money, they could have paid a limo to stand by and given
each turtle a ride to the other side and a good meal.
THE RESULT: Now, alligators wait on the far side for turtles to come
thru and then CHOMP.

Do they do any turtle training? How are the turtles supposed to know to use
the tunnel?
You got off cheap at 3.5. We just opened our own "Bridge to Nowhere" on SR
406 in Titusville. $45M so that people visiting Canaveral National Seashore
can breeze on and not have to wait for the (very) occasional boater to come
thru the old swing bridge. 2 moderate sized marinas lie to the North of the
new, 65 foot bridge.
Some might say it's to serve Kennedy Space Center but with the dwindling
numbers that would be a little hard to swallow.
Of course the park rangers also use that road going to and fro work but I
don't think they have that kind of influence.
