A court order requesting that the logs and or data be retained until a
potential lawsuit has completed is normal. The organization will have to
retain the data or they will be subject to sanction by the court for not
following the courts order. They may even impound any computers of the
individual who is the primary subject of the lawsuit.

Deleting files on a disk doesn't do anything to cover your tracks.

Harry's just trying to stick up for Don, the pussy who threatened to
call the FBI and the "ISP licensing agency", then backed out like the
coward he is.
