Perish the thought! I was hard at work. Between then and yesterday I got
the painting done that I wanted to get done for now. Still need to go to
West Marine and get a roll of half-inch red tape to add a red line above
the
darker blue paint. It looks much better now. Shines like new paint and all
.
. .

Cool... maybe when you get a chance you can post some picture
somewhere?

Those photos on the blog now are several years old now. I just took some new
pics yesterday. I'll post them to a new entry in my wordpress blog soon. I
didn't get the red striping tape, though, instead I used gold leaf tape
which I had in stock which shines real nice. Yesterday I did some sanding on
the white parts of the boat and today I sponged it down with bleach to kill
any mold that might want to grow under the new paint. I put a thin undercoat
on the port side just a little while ago. Sanding and re-painting the white
is a longer job. After I get it all sanded and primed then I'll tape it off
and lay on a couple thicker coats so it should gleam like new.

Check here sometime in the next couple of days for updated photos.

Ok. I'll check back. Sheesh.. just got home from work. Work SUCKS!!

sni0p

I don't really know why it's called a cove stripe, though. Maybe Bruce,
who
fancies himself an expert would know. LOL!

That would be a good trivia question/answer!

I'd miss it for sure! ;-(

It's a labor of love . . . And, I don't feel comfortable with
junky-looking
stuff.

Definitely. I understand. You can see it on job sites when the builder
or whatever gives a crap and when he doesn't.

I would LOVE to see some pictures... hopefully you'll include one or
three of yourself? (I hope you're not too shy... I'm not being pushy,
just curious.)

Your wish is my command though the pictures are a couple of years old by
now. I'll take some new pics of the outside of the boat with the new paint
when I get it completed, but it will look pretty much the same as the
older
photos except the blue will be darker blue. But, I only had one of me to
post. Hope it doesn't gross you out!

Heh...

Oh, here's the link again if you missed it somehow.

Yeah, weird... didn't see it before I think.

Hey, you're not so bad... :-)

Thanks, I think I put Bruce and Skippy to shame, for sure. LOL!

I think it looks really homey inside. If I had to criticize something,
I'd say get some different rugs. They look a little darker than the
cushions and sort of draw your eye to them vs. the cushions. Speaking
of those... do you stick to them when it gets warm? Perhaps they
should be in covers. Then you could wash them if needed.

The rugs have faded considerably. I've washed them and bleached them so many
times that they are about the same color as the cushions. Besides, I only
use them in the winter to keep my feet a little warmer. In the summer I roll
them up and stow them away. When sailing, I don't use them at all as the
footing is better using the non-skid surface that is molded into the GRP
sole.

As for sticking to the cushions when it's hot I do stick to them but I sit
on a towell most of the time to keep from sticking. Actually, it's more like
sliding around than sticking. LOL! At any rate, they are much easier to keep
clean than cloth cushions. Just a wipe down with a sponge and a little
detergent and bleach and water is all it takes. I can sit on them hot and
sweaty and with suntan oil and I don't have to worry about them at all.

That's true... you'd have to wash covers. I just hate sticking to
seats. I got leather in the car because you don't stick to it.

Ok.. and a dumb question (I'm sure). What's the little things in the
same picture that shows the two rubs on the left side near the stair
step? Is that just a 110v outlet with stuff in it?

You guessed it. That was a nite light made out of a carved seashell with
some sort of wading bird - maybe an ibis. It broke some time ago and no
longer exists.

Ah...
