One would imagine your childhood Christmas time was pretty bleak.
Christmas is a great time for children, more so than adults.
Overanalyizing Christmas robs the simple joy that Christmas is for
children. Sorry yours was ****ty...

I don't know, k2. I think it might be just as great a time for adults,
for different reasons. I appreciate getting the whole family together
more than I used to.

We sat down 17 to dinner on Christmas Eve, 24 for a buffet for
Christmas. It's good to have all the kids playing together.

I used to love it when I was a kid and all the family got together and
us *cousins* could sneak off alone without the grownups and just hang.
I love, today, to see my grandkids doing the same. I think when
they're all grownup they'll be good friends. And so the tradition
continues. It's FAMILY after all.


like my brother mike says, people who look like us. my nephew stephen
hasn't had a lot of chance to see his cousins, and he was the funniest
of them all. he stood with the four boys closest to his age, and broke
up laughing. i had warned him that there would be a pile of boys his age
that looked just like him, and to make sure that he went home with us.
he had to admit that they looked just like him.

That's funny but can be very true. All our grandkids look more like each
other than they look like their parents. It's pretty obvious when
they're all together that they are related. Fascinating.
