We used them extensively on five 20ft Zodiac's with 70hp Johnson OB in

Malta
& Thailand and they were great. Most of the times the boats were

overloaded
but the fins helped get the boats on a plain and saved us all kinds of

fuel.

As to the manufactures putting them on there motors, why don't they do a

lot
of things they could do! You think they give a ****!

Anyway, get some fins but don't use them as a step to get in the boat,

they
do break!

Are the after market Hydrofoil wings that are attached to Outboards
and I/Os any good? If they work as advertised, why don't the
manufacturers install them? Are they worth the money and will they
harm my boat or my engine??
I have a 23' Sea Ray with a 350 Mercruiser fuel injected engine. I
want it to get up on a plane faster. Will Hydrofoils work?
Anyone have any experience with them?
Thanks

I had a 1989 220 Sundancer and put both the Doel Fin and SE brand fins
on. I liked the SE Sport 300 fin better ($39.95 at .......

I had a 4.3 and noticed a definite difference. The boat planed slightly
faster, but the real advantage was the tendency of the foil to help keep
the bow down a bit.
