Faryman diesels have a less than stellar rep in the marine world (frequent
mention is made of blown head gaskets). The base block is a Ducati (part of
Fiat?), and is marinized in Germany. Ducati was (is?) in some kind of
financial trouble, and was (is?) in some ongoing management trouble. Parts --
even ordinary parts -- were often reported to be backordered right to Ducati,
with Ducati sometimes taking very extended time periods to produce.

MTBF (mean time between failures) was often considered rather low, while MTTR
(mean time to repair) was often considered rather high.

Things may have changed. Your mileage may vary.

Looking for info,,,,,,, does anyone know what the length of one of
these engines is? As measured from the very sterniest part to the
very front part?

And opinions would be welcome also.
