There's no question that these "ID spoofers" as you call them want
nothing more than the complete destruction of this newsgroup. Perhaps if
their actual identifies were posted here, they'd have an incentive to
leave.

Sounds like you may need a more structured arena, this is google groups,
and part of the beauty of usenet is the freedom to speak anonymously
without fear of retribution... Outing someones real id is just a way to
stifle free speech and intimidate. It's the same as stalking or
threatening someones family in my opinon...

I don't see any group advantage to allowing a few slobs to assume the
identities of other posters or to insult other posters while hiding
behind a cloak of anonymity. The stalking, as it were, is being done by
those spoofers and insulters who cannot control themselves and behave.
In the circumstances under discussion, free speech is not the issue.

Outing folks has been a tactic used to silence folks here for over a
decade, some posters have been outed and stalked right off the group,
including women Paul. Sorry, it's a sensitive matter here... Either way,
you seem to be looking for some kind of Utopia that is very rare on
Usenet. What you fail to understand O great "Sage of Zoar", is in
comparison, what we have here IS Utopia!

You should know that at one time this was actually a boating group, and
one of the most active on all of Google. I doubt it was ever 100%
perfect and folks did fine way back then without kill files or
sophisticated readers, they just ignored the bs the way Tim does.

Maybe you are spoiled by always being the guy with the grade book
((((note the smiley face which you should interpret as "just kidding,
just kidding")))) I still say, this is about as good as you can ask
for in a Google group. Put on the big boy shoes and step up, post
something we can all talk about...

I'm a principled guy, and see no reason to give slack to those whose
only goal is to disrupt.
