Big boating day today...packed a picnic lunch, went to the boat, Bay
looked pretty snotty from several look-sees from the roads getting to
the marina, so we ate lunch tied up at the marina. Ah, well. I guess it
counts as an entry in the log book.

Seriously? Don't you think an entry in the log book would require
replacing something, flushing something out, installing something or
at least starting the engines?

Does lunch really count?

Well, I did adjust a fender...

Hey, it's *my* log book and I'll put in it what I want! :)

Hummmm, wouldn't make an entry for that even if it was fun...

Actually, I think it is reasonable to make a log entry every time you
visit your boat in the water at a marina, even if it is just to note
that "everything is nominal." I check the bilge, the lines, the dock, et
cetera. If something happens when I'm not around, I at least can pin
down the dates.

We do the same with the house when we're away. We have someone come by
every day to check on the cats and to check the doors and windows. She
sends me a text message every day. If something is amiss, we'll know
approximately when it happened, and that can be helpful. We return that
favor for her.

Wow, talk about paranoia!
