Tarpon was a smaller boat, so 2 would have been max customers.

hat is a little closer to what I expected. But get 4 guys and a couple of
coolers with beer, replace beer with fish and be a good day.

Anyone ever fished Panama? (As in country)
This dude is stepping off the tread mill and as a present to my
retiring self I would like to do some fishing in Panama or Costa Rica.
Any tips? Time of year? Where to go?

Couple people I know have fished Panama. Reasonable and good fishing.
Costa Rica is great fishing. I have an acquaintance who owns part of a
lodge on the Pacific side. I tell him he is too expensive, but he gets
guests. I thought most of the Pacific side when I was in Jaco was
overpriced for fishing. More than Cabo, which is the most expensive
marina in the world. They are charging Alaska prices in a country with
a
longer season and a $20 a day minimum wage. The Caribbean side for
Tarpon out of Tortuguero was a decent price and I got a lot of 20-100#
tarpon. Most fun fish to catch I think. Some of the San Diego Long
Range
boats are running trips out of Panama part of the year. Look at H&M
landing I think.
$20/day? That is cheap like borscht. Do you not mean per hour? Either
way, I can see doing a lot of fishing at those prices. Now to look up
Pacific versus Caribbean as that is a good point.
I have heard Tarpon are fun to catch. But never gone fishing for one
yet. But could be a hoot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarpon
Not interested in expensive over crowded places like Cabo. Looking for
a more laid back places. No need for party gals and the zoo. Been
there done that decades ago but now appreciate a quieter time.
