Well, we're rounding third in our quest to step aboard and cut the lines.
Minor details remain to be dealt with, but one which had bedeviled us until
today is now resolved.

That's the name of our boat. There's more background than you'll want to
hear, but the challenge we've had is to come up with something which was
meaningful to both of us, and also to be unique

This is in the US as the Canadian system seems to be down at the
moment.

When we bought our boat its name was INCORRIGIBLE which Bob hated.
The first boat we chartered was WHISPER, and I thought that was a good
name, but when I looked it up, there were 50 some WHISPERs. We also
wanted something a bit unique.

We considered a large number of names, including REAL QUIET who had
just won the Kentucky Derby. I looked all of them up for uniqueness.
There were no Real Quiets in the database although there is a small
boat here in this marina with that name, but we finally decided on my
first name. There are 14 other boats with ROSALIE in their names
(including a fishing boat named ST. ROSALIE, and a freight barge named
ROSALIE 106B), but none that are ROSALIEANN.

As for logos - before you use one, you'd usually have to get
permission. http://www.flyingpigsoftware.com/showwinner.html has the
designs for a Flying Pig logo contest. (I don't like any of these)

The Flying Pig Systems one looks like it has an attitude.

http://flyingpig.pigpen.com/ is a site for people who collect pigs and
their logo is a bit more cherubic

There's a carved balsa flying pig on the order of the Flying Pig
System one http://www.natashascafe.com/html/pig.html which could
perhaps serve as a figurehead.

****My favorite is http://www.arcfan.demon.co.uk/sf/flying.htm the
Flying Pig Bookshop in the UK which has a nice silhouette logo

A Japanese company http://www.flying-pig.co.uk/ apparently makes
'executive toys to model' and has a moving model of a flying pig.

http://www.flyingpig.nl/alt1024/theFlyingPig1024.htm is a backpackers
hostel in Holland but their logo doesn't seem particularly useful.

http://www.flyingpigmarathon.com/ has a logo for the Flying Pig
Marathon in Cincinnati

There's a logo on the Flying Pig home page of a couple in the UK
http://users.argonet.co.uk/users/flying.pigs/intro.html

There's also Flying Pig Shopping, Flying Pig Productions (selling
flying pigs - apparently people collect them), Flying Pig Eyewear, The
Flying Pigs QRP Club, the Flying Pig Brewing Company (without a web
page), a Flying Pig singing group that has put out a CD, a UK
Cambridge football (soccer) club named Flying Pigs, and Flying Pig
Precinct in NSW which is a gift shop.
