The sad thing for Iraq is that it wouldn't matter if we stayed there
another decade. As soon as we leave, Iraq will blow up. I haven't seen any
evidence Iraq (or Afghanistan, for that matter) will survive as even
modestly democratic nations.

I'm not sure I agree with this, at least not yet. You might be right. I
think it's just too early to tell.

They are prime examples of what happens when you allow fundamentalist
religious types to control a country. And you can bet that a theocracy is
exactly what the crazyconservativechristians want for the united states.
