What Mr. Krauthhammer is describing in his column is the unabashed,
pernicious use of the "ignoratio elenchi." A sophistic tool employed
with remarkable agility by Progressive malcontents. Call a Progressive
on it, and that person, true to form, will simply state that you are a
'moron' or full of 'hot air.'
Naturally, "substance" is an alien term to the Progressive mindset.
This article is spot on!

He's pseudo intellectual who lies as a matter of course. Of course, for
you,
he's a intellectual giant, but you're a moron.
the increased emotionalism of the right is taking on alarming
proportions....they have no rational arguments so rely on appeals to
ignorant bigotries
Stoking people's fear is their expertise. They have to find someone to hate.
If not the traditional Jews, then it would be blacks, immigrants (or anyone
with a brown skin), gays, Muslims - it doesn't really matter. It used to be
the Irish and Catholics. There's never any rational or semi-rational
argument, and they use Christian evangelism extremism to deny people care,
civil liberties, you name it. On the Republican side, their only loyalty is
to money. If environmental groups had billions to lobby with, they would be
staunch environmentalists. On the Democratic side, their slightly less loyal
to money, and some have some intellectual horsepower, but they're still
flawed. They're terrified of being called anti-business or pro-terrorist or
whatever the Republicans can think up. The independents are, by definition,
independent, but unfocused (and the so-called grassroots tea party has no
clear notion beyond whatever intellectual midgets like Gingrich, Palin,
Rush, and Beck say).
