Installed! Whew!
Still have to paint trim, install screen doors.
Took just a tiny shim on one side to level left to right. Concrete floor
was perfectly flat. Built-in locks lined up perfectly, as did the deadbolt.
Looks good.
Hey, thanks. It was pretty scary for me... Getting the old door out was
much more difficult, involving j mold and a pneumatic cut-off saw and my
fear factor.
Scary was when I put in the Andersen Frenchwood door and my wife said
she wanted the track an inch lower. I ended up taking my brand new
track to the table saw, Ripped off the whole bottom of it and just
installed the actual runner strip. Then I had to make the doors an
inch and a half taller to match the hole.
Fortunately we have a lot of red oak I put in and I had some wood to
work with. It really came out pretty well but it was scary for a
while. When her door guys came over to install the Windoor corner
sliders (I was not going to tackle that one) they looked at the
Anderson and were really confused until I told them what we did.
Well, you are well beyond my home carpentry ability and bravery!
