Clever boat names
Wouldn't pull those tricks while sailing that Sunfish.
They just might swamp you as they pass by.

I've always thought it would be fun to name a boat like:
Charleston Police Department
or
Federal Bureau of Investigation
or
Coast Guard Group Charleston
or
Drug Enforcement Administration
or
Internal Revenue Service
or
USS Eisenhower
or
Frying Pan Shoals Light
or
United Flight 232
creating real havoc on VHF wherever you sailed.....(c;
If I have to call the Coasties for some non-emergency reason like
reporting a floating container or other massive hazard dumped off some
ship, I call them with their OFFICIAL FCC CALLSIGN and mine, creating
more real havoc as the idiot on watch rarely recognizes his station by
his OFFICIAL FCC CALLSIGN. Not getting an answer, I switch to the CB
handles like "Coast Guard Group Charleston", which he answers to
immediately, so I can INFORM and TRAIN their watchstanders as to their
OFFICIAL FCC CALLSIGN when I ask him why he didn't respond when I
called him at first....(c; I still use our callsign, in any event.
Maybe we should put:
WDB 6254
on the stern of her, which seems to create its own havoc on VHF or:
366920680
her new MMSI for the DSC/GMDSS radios. That way if you wanted to call
me on HF or VHF, you could see our MMSI on the stern where "Lionheart"
used to be....(c;
Might be fun to have those made up into flags I could fly, proudly,
from the mainmast or have sewn into the new mainsail instead of the
hull number, which is useless. Great big WDB 6254, 8' high on the
main....
Of course, we COULD use Morse on 2182.....(c;
All in good fun, don'tcha know.

How about calling for a boat named UH OH II on the radio? Saw a power
boat with that name in the Alligator Pungo Canal.
TOTALLY WASTED is a name I'm not sure I like that I saw on another
power boat. I'm not sure about LAWMEN from Baltimore either. I liked
another trawler QUE PASA? better.
We met some newly retired folks whose boat was named GREAT ESCAPE.
