The Feds and the States have been overspending for years. Clinton Era was

biggest spending package in recent years?

bush spent a trillion in iraq.

bush inherited a surplus and a balanced budget. then he gave away
trillions to the rich in the form of tax cuts and increased deficit
spending to 9% of GDP

When Bush went on his spending spree to run up the debt I thought he had
a purpose in his fiscal irresponsibility.
Get America to the point where SS and Medicare can't be funded and as
much wealth as possible has been transferred to the rich.
Don't really know if he thought that out, but that's what I saw as the
result coming.
What other purpose could the Republican party have in mind?
The redistribution of wealth has worked well.
SS and Medicare will be too tough.
We'll see what happens when that Presidential commission on balancing
the budget comes in with its findings.
If they say cut SS and Medicare for middle class and lower income groups
the first thing that will be said to that commission is,
"Non-millionaires who voted to cut SS and Medicare please step forward."
Won't be any movement.
That commission is loaded with millionaires, including some of the Dems.
Rep Paul Ryan (R), that clean-cut boy still wanting to privatize SS
because he has the American people's interest in heart?
Multi-millionaire.
The SS and Medicare cuts won't fly unless the American public are even
bigger suckers than I think.
More likely they'll reduce payments to medical providers and get them
whining. The "medical industry" can't survive without the gov, as
that's a huge part of their income. If the docs whine too hard about
not pulling down $500k average we just import some Indians and Chinamen
to do that work. The old farts on medicare don't care who's keeping
them alive, so long as they ain't paying for it.
It always gets down to "class warfare."
Just how it works when money is the most important thing in the world.
Probably always has been and always will be.
Hell, I don't want nobody cutting my SS and Medicare, so I ain't no
different.
Get right down to it, you ain't paying enough taxes for that income of
yours. You're a rich guy to me.
Hey Bob, catch the Chelsea Clinton wedding?
One investment banker marrying another. The CDO people.
The good ole boy "man of people" Bill Clinton sure knows how to raise a
kid right. Of course he was the continuation of Ronnie Raygun.
Wouldn't expect his kid to be a social worker.
