Most police (at least out here) will accept your DL number if you don't
have your ID. It's happened to me once or twice when I left the DL at home.

That's funny. I have a thing with remembering numbers so I know mine, my
wifes, our ss numbers for the family and can recite all the phone
numbers of my parents friends and neighbors when I was a small child,
etc. etc. etc...
