Why does it amuse you? What is funny about such a misfortune happening

Yes, it's kind of shocking that Tom didn't jump in the way of that
rolling truck and try to stop it with his bare hands. Shocking,
simply shocking...

There were two questions:

1. What's funny about a serious accident?

2. If you see someone at the ramp having problems, do you offer to help,
or do you sit on your ass and laugh?

Apparently, for some here, the answer to 2 is sit on your ass and laugh.

I don't recall asking why Tom didn't try to stop the truck.

Perhaps someday Tom will have a serious accident while towing, launching
or retrieving his boat. Perhaps someday you'll hit a reef and your boat
will sink. Be sure to let us know how funny you think it is.

You REALLY oughta get a life. Must be miserable to be you.

One sad character there. Wishes death on people, then acts all high and
mighty about launch ramp comedies where nobody gets hurt.
Just a putz until he cleans up his act.
Don't know if he's capable of that without some serious drinking.
Maybe if he dropped a few tabs of acid he could get himself straight.
Or maybe 534,256 consecutive polite posts to turn opinions around.
But he always backslides after his monthly one polite post.

Jim - Hard to calculate if Harry is redeemable.

Seriously, I am more and more convinced that he acts the way he does just
the get the attention he does.

He talks about multi-tasking, but the amount of time he spends here and with
the very short time span for most responses of his, this is his primary
"hunting" ground.
