Since most of the public supports its repeal, I doubt that's going to stop
recruitment. People act as though there are no gays in the military. The
point of repealing this is so that those who are there don't have to lie
about it.

Again, the real vote is not going to be a poll of the general public,
it will be among those who are likely to join the military or those
who might reenlist. That is why Gates sent out those questionnaires he
is in so much trouble over.

Cut the $500 billion we spend on the military in half. Get rid of half
the personnel, keeping only a portion of those who can deal with 21st
Century realities.
