If the quotes we are hearing are correct, he was way out of line,
almost unbelievably so for someone in his position. Perhaps in his
subconcious mind he really wanted out of the job. Things like that

mcchrystal determined the plan we're using in afghanistan. if there's
BS, it's mcchrystal's
McChrystal is upset that Obama might actually follow the time table
and get us out of Afghanistan next year. Military people make war for
a living and they promote their craft. That is why we have civilian
oversight. In the end it is really McCrystal's decision to leave the
Army or not but he can have his options in the Army severely limited
What most career military personnel want most is to stay in uniform, no
matter what.
