What's wrong with Abby Sunderland?

What a stupid thing to do. Working on her engine in a storm. 35-foot seas,
60 knot winds. Duh!

Why is it that today's so-called sailor can't wean themselves off their
motors? What good is a motor anyway in a storm in the middle of an ocean?

Forget the motor and take care of managing the ship under sail, bare poles,
drogue or what have you but stop with the insanity of relying on the motor.

Ho hum. Several knock-downs in high seas, and the main mast breaks.
Your antenna rigs are in tatters, and you have only an engine left.

What else can you do? That's a question that beats nealbur, apparently.
