As you can plainly see, Herring is still posting his snotty, snarky

Yeah, I can tell.

I'm merely fertilizing what herring started.

why?

Told ya already...the immediate goals are to get the ID spoofers and ID
screen name changers to stop their childish behavior, and to get herring
to stop making his snarky remarks with virtually everything he posts here..

These would be the first steps in trying to make rec.boats a more
hospitable place. Until the boys start to behave, I see no possibility
of this newsgroup returning to being a "boating" newsgroup, nor do I see
any point in writing up a detailed post about boating, only to see the
mostly non-boaters in here go into immediate "attack mode." I engage in
boating posts in other places, where the moderators would ban posters
like...well...never mind. :)

Frankly, I don't see any hope for rec.boats as a mostly boating
newsgroup. I stay around because there are a few folks here I like and
find interesting, but only a few, and their numbers are dwindling or
they have become less active. On the other hand, there are a few posters
who seem intent on driving out those who disagree with them politically.

As an aside, I don't mind off-topic posts if they are interesting. There
are so few real boaters here that if the topics were mostly strictly
boating-related, there would be about two interesting boating posts
every three days.

If you have better suggestions to accomplish these goals of getting the
ID spoofers and snarkers like herring to stop, let's hear them. And
let's not suggest we "ignore" them, because I did that for a long, long
time with my filters, and they never ceased.

Have a good day.

So, how often do you launch your boat Harry? I haven't had much of an
opportunity to do much boating around here due to the weather. So far,
I'[ve only been able to make it out once this year.

but It should start getting dry soon and I want to get out a whole lot
more. BTW, fuel prices are going down so I'll be able to budget more
boating time.
