SEATTLE -- A 4-month-old Thurston County baby has died at Harborview Medical
Center, where she was taken early this week after her father reported he
threw her up into the air and dropped her.

The King County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy. The results will
determine the course of the investigation by the Thurston County Sheriff's
Office, a deputy told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

The 20-year-old father told the sheriff's office that he was playing with
his daughter, throwing her into the air and catching her, when the child
fell and landed on her head and back on Sunday.

A sheriff's office spokesman said earlier in the week that there was no
evidence that pointed to a crime.
