I don't know if you are aware of this, but you cannot hire a person on the
spot and put them to work. All workers have a 72 hour waiting period between
submission of paperwork and their first day on the job. Bush's DHS is
supposed to look at each and every application. Then, how many
us-against-them small business subvert the system?
It is really that same bunch of idiots that wave the flag and then shop at
Wal-Mart, lining the pockets of the Chi-Coms. And they call themselves
patriots.
There's no waiting period for illegals who are willing to work for those
hundreds of thousands of shady employers who hire them as contract
workers or off the clock.
Up until the full force of the Bush Megarecession hit, many of the
international construction unions and their locals recruited Latinos at
non-union construction sites, and were putting them through
skills-improving and also English classes so they could work union.
The best "organizers," though, were the madrecitas, the wives of the
workers and the mothers of their children. Much of Latino home life is
matriarchal in nature, and when mama finds out that when her husband
works union, the family gets health insurance, a pension program, and a
much, much safer workplace, she pressures him to join the union.
