Maybe it was because the province had close ties to the British Empire,
and had no reason to "join the Union." You might want to read up on such
events as the Charlottetown Conference.



Screw the British Empire. But bet they shipped lots of Scotch to the
party. They would have been better off in the union.

British parliamentry politics is innately corrupt form of democracy. A
ruse really. And in this day and age with the internet, the people need
more direct particiation and influence over their governance, either
side of the border. (Not boarder .
