Most places no longer bus for desegregation. The courts can make an
exception if the situation warrants it.

There are still plenty of counties in the south that are still under
deseg orders or so recently out from under them that those old busing
patterns still remain. Hence my original statement.


And, hence my statement that whatever busing remains is probably
justified,
esp. in the South, which has had some minor problems with race relations.


Unfortunately it does interfere with the programs tho. If you can't
get 20% minority participation, you can't have the program.
They are trying to fix the problem Harry was talking about, the lack
of parental participation, with a quota system and a big yellow bus.



Well, there's always a trade off isn't there.
