Judy's BB Storm has a great mapping ap. We were playing with it when

That's my neck of the woods... is it beautiful or what!
We really liked Mammoth better but the Tahoe area was ok, just a
little too crowded.
Yeah, Tahoe can get packed. My area isn't really Tahoe... close enough to
go
without too much thought... far enough to not be affected by the
congestion.
We originally planned our trip based on flying out of Reno, then at
the last minute my wife's (MIA) old friend from the flower biz popped
up in LaJolla so we switched our flight to LAX and drove one of the
days we were going to spend at Tahoe. We were running out of things to
do anyway. We are hikers and that area is not as hiker friendly as the
areas around Kings Canyon/Sequoia or even Mammoth. We really should
have blown off Squaw Valley and stayed in Mammoth. ... but I would
have never seen Carson City ... wheee!
The Squaw Valley resort is nice tho.
Our vacations are usually pretty much "free form" anyway. We seldom
follow the plan
Squaw is nice... kinda commercial for skiing, but not bad. I don't really do
downhill any more... cross country is more interesting.
