You don't really need real time Gulf Stream data off the coast of
Florida unless you are doing precision survey work of some sort. The
color of the water and your GPS course-made-good versus compass
heading really gives you everything you need to know.

The guys who need good up-to-date data are those crossing the stream
further north on the way to Bermuda. By then large eddies and
meanders have begun to develop and small errors in strategy can lead
to huge differences in speed-over-ground.
