My local mechanic guy also sells tires, and he's good with a wrench.
I've put it off for so long, but now it's time to do something about
the tires. they're B78x13 and when I called him to tell him the size

59.00 a piece x 4. But he told me the brand name which happens to be
"Carlisle" , and I remember from past discussions that Carlisle's had

These are a 6 ply tire that my mechanic was talking about and I'm not
sure if they're a radial or a bias-ply , but Now I'm a bit hesitant
about using that brand.

That's a common brand up here.
I thought most trailer tires were bias-ply for stiffer sidewalls.
$59.00 seems like a good price...I paid that much for the 5.80 x 12 tires on
my boat trailer last year.
When I went for a safety check on my 2005 Load-Rite boat trailer...the
mechanic wouldn't pass the 5 year old tires because a a few cracks in the
sidewalls.

Glad you had some decent luck, Don.

But just now looking around, I found this. There's some serious rant
going on, but I find that most of the people who had sorry luck were
either running a 4 ply when they should have had 6, or were under
inflating them.
