I guess putter boating is better than none. It might be a fisherman's
delight, though.
Can you raise your OB and drop your trolling motor in that area?
Larry
I wouldn't see why not. But i think it states that the lake is divided
where in one section is for 'anything but gas' propulsion only.
Shabbona Lake in central IL is a 10HP lake. From what I have heard, you
can't launch and use a boat with a larger motor and a 9.9 kicker even if
that is the only motor you will use.
Shabona is in northern/ central IL. around DeKalb if I remember
corectly, and it's small. I think it's only about 400 acres, but don't
quote me on that. I can understand the smaller lakes having hp
restrictions.
It's not but about 20 miles from me, but I think the Sam Dale park
lake Johnsonville IL has a 10hp max on it too. But it's a really small
lake of about 200 acres. It's a fishing lake and that's about it.
I think there's some public lakes around central/southern IL, that are
trolling motor only, though.
Can you fish those lakes with the gas motor up and only the trolling
motor used? It would be tough to retrieve the boat with a front troller!
