the Lane is getting soggy as the ice is melting and turning it into a

We had two of them in our Battalion in Germany. They didn't work too often, but
when they did they were great. You could launch the bridge and then use the
prime mover (an M60 tank chassis) to pull your boat. Or, you could pull your
boat any damn place you wanted and have your own built in launch ramp.

They're not cheap on the fuel though.

Good thinking but when designed fuel costs was no object. I was
thinking something more like this, but it would be kinda hard to sump
'em out, though.

Most of the barges you see on the various rivers in Europe have the same style
bow. Strange that they'd incorporate that in something like a pontoon bridge.
