One route to consider is Miami to Charleston to Morehead City, then inside
to Norfolk, and then offshore to New York. A lot of folks don't like
Hatteras at _any_ time of the year, and early spring or summer could be
rough going unless you are well offshore. The route I suggested isn't the
fastest, but it affords a few good breaks for provisions, repairs and the
like. I have sailed it at least twice and am still here to write about it.
