You are right that the average labor cost in a GM car is about $1600
but the burden is the additional obligations to retirees that adds
another $2000 to that car.
which in other countries, is picked up by the govt.
our govt is engaged in a race to the bottom. cut wages, cut benefits,
no vacation.
