Some notes:

oil on canvas

It depicts a scene circa 1912, w/ the viewpoint being
just above the Pennsylvania Reading Railroad (PRR)
Ferry Terminal in Philadelphia, looking toward Camden,
NJ, across the Delaware River, w/ the PRR Ferry slips
visible. The Wilson Line steamer, Twilight, passes the
ferry slips heading north on a moonlit night. The
battleship, South Carolina, is docked on the Camden
side of the river for the upcoming July 4th celebration
on the Delaware.

I wonder how it would look w/out the sailboat ... just
has never looked quite right, placed where it is in the
pic ... but I'm not the artist

I tried to project some lines from it to the horizon thru the center
of the ship and I think the sailboat is out of scale, namely much too
big for that location. The color of the sail is too yellow too which
seems to throw things off even more. I did a quick check with psp and
moved the ship closer to the shore but am not real good with such. I
think the distance from shore has a lot to do with it and the size of
the sail boat vs the steamer. But of course as you say I am not the
artist, either.
