Around 1926 Dad age 9 was trying to drive a dynamite cap into a stump.
Dynamite was common around farms for blowing stumps and excavating ponds
etc.
He carried a piece of that cap, in his stomach, until around 1990, when
it worked itself out of the skin.
I used dynamite, as a teenager for same reasons and in working dog holes.
Explosives aren't a bogeyman. It just takes common sense and not playing
with them.
Everybody is afraid of everything now days. The Authorities and tv have
scared everyone of everything.
You can't blow a stump now, I'm told. You have to hire an expensive
outfit to do it for you.
Anyone can make sophisticated and dangerous explosives with things as
mundane as corn flakes.
